Skin rejuvenation treatments can take years off your appearance and skin resurfacing and wrinkle reduction treatments are now even better. It’s all about the DOT.
Fractional CO2 laser DOT therapy is used to reduce the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles and can refine enlarged pores, treat pigmentation, sun spots and softly tighten the skin.
Australian Skin Face Body offers two treatments – DOT therapy and DOT LITE.
How does a fractional laser work?
It’s all about The DOT !
Laser is used to deliver ‘dots’ of laser energy to penetrate the skin. The laser energy used stimulates the body’s natural collagen production resulting in a more even appearance of the skin.
DOT Therapy v DOT LITE
Compared to full skin ablation treatments seen in the past, there is significant reduction of after-treatment discomfort and downtime with DOT therapy.
DOT therapy targets the deep layers of the skin with healing and downtime of around 10 days. We know this is not always practical. Hence the introduction of DOT LITE.
DOT LITE has a shallower skin penetration for less discomfort during treatment and has a gentler period of peeling and healing time of just 4 -7 days. Normal activities can be resumed after this time.
What can I expect during a CO2 DOT laser treatment?
- A topical anaesthetic cream is applied prior to treatment.
- You may experience a slight “stinging” during the treatment.
- Post – treatment you will feel like you do following sunburn. The skin needs to be moisturised and a high quality sunscreen used.
- The treatment will take around 90 minutes (DOT LITE takes around 60 minutes)
How many fractional laser treatments will I need?
The majority of patients see an improved skin tone after the first treatment.
The number of treatments required depends on the condition of your skin and the end result you are after.
You may notice your pigmentation marks have faded after one single treatment, though two may be necessary to see the effects.
As laser stimulates the production of collagen you will notice a progressive improvement in your skin for at least six months after your last treatment.
As well as the face and neck, DOT therapy is also suitable for rejuvenating the décolletage area and the hands.
Fractional laser can be a great investment for your skin.
DOT therapy and DOT LITE treatments are suitable for all skin types.
We will assess your individual requirements with a pre-treatment consultation and tailor a program to achieve your desired result.
