Vbeam Perfecta Laser by Candela TM is a pulsed dye laser that can treat a range of conditions including rosacea, sunspots, age spots and freckles as well as other vascular and pigmentation issues such as facial veins, redness of the face and neck, port – wine stains and poikiloderma.
How does the Vbeam Perfecta Laser work?
The laser delivers an intense but gentle burst of yellow light into targeted areas of the skin. There it’s absorbed by the blood vessels or melanin pigmented areas, treating the condition.
It is suitable for all skin types.
What can I expect during a Vbeam treatment?
- You may feel a warming or tingling sensation during the treatment. Anesthetics are usually not required. However, the laser has a special cooling system to minimise discomfort during treatment and reduce side effects by protecting the top layers of the skin.
- The laser is used on selectively targeted areas of the skin, with factors such as the age, colour and type of lesions, as well as their location, determining whether they can be removed.
- After treatment, you may feel a sensation similar to mild sunburn.
How many Vbeam treatments will I need?
Most patients will notice results after the first treatment, as the procedure is very effective. However, ongoing treatment of four or more sessions will provide optimal results. We will determine how many treatments are needed at your initial consultation.
Permanency depends on various factors, for example sunspots may return if you continue to spend time in the sun without protection.
