Unwanted hair growth on legs can be treated with medical grade laser hair removal

Hair today. Gone tomorrow.

Medical grade laser hair removal is available at Australian Skin Face Body clinics located in Geelong, Ballarat, Horsham and Warrnambool.

Gone are the days of time consuming waxing and shaving of underarms, bikini lines, legs, arms, lips, chins and for the guys, chests and abdomens. Now, a few simple laser treatments can reduce your unwanted hair.

Why is laser hair removal so popular?

A medical grade laser treatment is a fast and effective way to get rid of unwanted hair meaning you can say goodbye to waxing and shaving. Most clients “regret not having it done year’s ago”.

How does laser work?

Laser uses a beam of light that is absorbed by the pigment in your hair and skin and is converted to heat. The heat damages the hair follicle so further hair cannot grow. It’s important to note, not all lasers are the same or give the same results. The Candela Gmax Pro TM  used at Australian Skin Face Body is a medical grade laser.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments required varies from person to person and factors such as age, medication and hormones can play a part in the success of the treatments. Each hair follicle goes through a different growth phase; laser works when your hair is in its active growth stage.

If clients are consistent with their treatment sessions, you will see a reduction in the amount of hair that grows back. Any re-growth is sporadic and the hair tends to be very fine. Whilst some people are happy with this, others may choose to have a ‘touch up’ treatment every 12 months or so.

Why is now the best time for hair removal?

Autumn and Winter are the best times to start a hair reduction program and you’ll be hitting the beach next summer with smooth, silky hair free legs.

Laser hair removal works best on dark hair and light, untanned skin. If you have fair hair, you may be unsuitable for laser hair removal and due to the lack of pigment, laser will not work on red, white or grey hair.

How does laser differ to IPL ?

A medical grade laser can be far more effective than Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) hair removal. Laser uses one wavelength of light to target the tissue whereas IPL uses multiple wavelengths of light, making laser treatment more target specific than IPL.

Does it hurt?

Our Dermal Clinicians, experts in hair removal, say this is THE most common question they get asked!

The Candela Gmax Pro TM , used at Australian Skin Face Body is one of the most comfortable and effective lasers used to safely target pigmentation in the hair. Laser pulses are very short and are combined with a cooling spray quickly combating any feeling of heat.
