Excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis is a medical condition.

Sweating is the body’s normal response to cool itself. However, for some people the sweating is excessive and is more than required for the body to regulate temperature.

The cause of hyperhidrosis is largely unknown. However, we do know anxiety or excitement can play a part in worsening the condition as can certain foods and smells.

Excessive sweating can occur on parts of the body including the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, axilla and scalp.

How is hyperhidrosis treated?

There are several options to treat this, however at Australian Skin Face Body, we prefer a non- surgical approach.

Mr Ian Holten (MED0001130662) MBBS MD FRACS FRCS (Plast) Lon offers hyperhidrosis consultations in Geelong, Ballarat, Warrnambool and Horsham.
