Dupuytren’s disease (also known as dupuytren’s contracture), is a condition in which some or all of the fingers have limited movement and cannot straighten out completely. It is caused by tissues in the palm thickening and shortening. Most commonly occurring in the ring and little fingers.

Depending on the severity of the disease, a non-surgical option may be available.

Pain free injections

Recovery time is less than that with surgery. First the injection is administered in the contracture fingers and 24 – 48 hours after the first injection manipulation of these is performed and corrected.

Dupuytren’s disease is a progressive condition so the earlier it is diagnosed, the more chance of less invasive solution. For more severe cases surgery may be required.

*All procedures carries risks. You need to weigh up the potential benefits with the risks.

Your Surgeon will discuss these risks, and how you can reduce them before and after surgery, in your consultation.
