Good as New. Enlighten us Cutera.

PICO laser therapy is all about RESULTS.

If you’ve had disappointing experiences with lasers previously, this could be for you.

It’s an exciting treatment for people with pigmentation including stubborn melasma and Enlighten III is also a superior tattoo removal system.

A recent write up “Good as new’, highlights Enlighten by Cutera, available at Australian Skin Face Body Skin & Laser Clinics.

Good as new

Pigmentation problems are notoriously difficult to treat. But it’s not impossible.
Hyperpigmentation is the number one skincare concern in Australia and it affects all ethnicities. Whether it’s sun-induced or hormonal, skin discolouration occurs when cells called melanocytes are stimulated to produce excess pigment. It may be superficial or lie deep within the structure of the skin – either way, it can be incredibly challenging to treat.

While pigmentation appears to the human eye as one colour, it’s actually made up of multiple shades, which is why it’s so difficult to treat. To cope with variations in colour and ensure an even result, a laser device must utilise multiple wavelengths, as well as having the correct pulse duration and energy level.

Pigmentation is made up of multiple shades, which is why it’s so difficult to treat.

Pigmentation cannot be cured, but it can be kept under control with the right treatments and skincare.  There are several non-surgical technologies on the market, including Enlighten by Cutera, which features three integrated wavelengths and can be fitted with an attachment that not only treats pigmentation, but also minimises and, in some cases, removes scarring and fine lines.

The Enlighten device works on different types of pigmentation, including congenital and resistant forms, and targets discolouration without damaging the surrounding tissue. It also works on pigmented lesions, which can be removed without reoccurrence (lesions should be checked by a doctor to ensure they are benign prior to treatment).

The same technology that treats pigmentation can also be used to remove tattoos or to lighten them so a new one can be inked over the top. That’s good news for the one in four people who get a tattoo and later regret it. (Note that some colours, including greens and reds can be difficult to remove.)

The clinician may suggest an annual follow-up for those dealing with pigmentation, depending on the depth and result of the first treatment. Non-Caucasian clients in particular may require yearly procedures, as pigmentation can be more difficult to treat in those with a deeper skin tone.

For faster healing and better results, be sure to follow your clinician’s recommended skincare regimen. Use the products before your treatment – and keep going with them afterwards – to prevent the discolouration from making an unwelcome comeback.
