SKIN & LASER
Excel V+
A vascular and pigmentation laser treatment for surface veins, broken capillaries, facial redness and rosacea.
About the Treatment
Excel V+ is a laser treatment for vascular and pigmentation concerns, including surface veins, broken capillaries, tiny blood-filled blisters, and facial redness including rosacea. It works by delivering a high-power green laser that's absorbed by abnormal blood vessels in the skin. The resulting heat causes the vessel walls to collapse and seal shut.
Common concerns treated include rosacea, acne and acne scarring, age spots, facial veins, spider veins, leg veins, poikiloderma and enlarged pores. During treatment, a cooled tip stays in contact with the skin to help protect it and improve comfort.
-
During treatment, you may feel a sensation similar to a rubber band snapping lightly against the skin. A cooled treatment tip stays in contact with your skin throughout to help with comfort. Sessions can range from around 5 to 45 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated.
-
Many people notice a significant improvement after two to three treatments, though this varies depending on the concern being treated and how your skin responds. Your practitioner will discuss what to expect for your specific situation at consultation.
-
As with any laser treatment, Excel V+ carries some risks. These can include, but are not limited to:
Redness, which may feel similar to sunburn for several hours after treatment
Swelling, particularly where larger areas or multiple vessels are treated
Changes in skin pigmentation, in less common cases
Bruising
Your practitioner will discuss the risks relevant to your specific treatment before proceeding.
-
Redness and mild swelling in the treated area are expected and generally settle within a few hours to a day. Your practitioner will advise on any specific aftercare, including sun protection, relevant to your treatment.
-
As with any laser treatment, individual results vary — some people need just one treatment, while others benefit from an ongoing course to achieve their desired result. For many people, results from treated vessels are long-lasting, though genetics, age and lifestyle factors can influence how long results last, and new vessels can still form over time. Your practitioner will discuss realistic expectations for your specific skin at consultation.
Costs will be confirmed during your consultation, tailored to your treatment plan.
