Pico Laser
A picosecond laser treatment for pigmentation, sunspots, melasma and acne scarring, using ultra-short pulses to target pigment with minimal impact on surrounding tissue.
About the Treatment
PICO Genesis is a non-ablative laser treatment that uses three laser wavelengths delivered in ultra-short pulses, aiming to break down pigment while minimising impact on surrounding tissue. It may help address dark spots, sun damage, pigmentation and acne scarring.
Your practitioner will discuss any pre-treatment preparation with you at consultation, tailored to your specific skin — daily SPF 50 sun protection is generally advised both before and after treatment.
-
Your practitioner will assess your skin and discuss pre-treatment preparation, including sun protection, ahead of your session. During treatment, the laser is passed over the treatment area — most people describe a warm, snapping sensation.
-
Some people notice a change in as little as two treatments, though the number of sessions recommended depends on your specific concern and how your skin responds. Your practitioner will discuss an appropriate plan at consultation.
-
As with any laser treatment, Pico laser carries some risks. These can include, but are not limited to:
Redness or temporary sensitivity in the treated area
Changes in skin pigmentation, in less common cases
Mild swelling or bruising
Infection, in rare cases
Your practitioner will discuss the risks relevant to your specific skin before proceeding.
-
Sun protection is particularly important following treatment — daily SPF 50 is generally recommended. Your practitioner will advise on any other specific aftercare relevant to your skin and treatment area.
-
As with any laser treatment, individual results vary. Results aren't permanent, and ongoing sun protection helps maintain them — new pigmentation can still form over time with sun exposure. Your practitioner will discuss realistic expectations for your specific skin at consultation.
Costs will be confirmed during your consultation, tailored to your treatment plan.
