How does Ultraformer MPT work?
It’s all about collagen – the building block of your skin. As we age, the dermis layer of the skin synthesises less collagen.
The treatment uses a variety of ultrasound waves which have a shrinking effect on skin cells. The waves cause minor inflammation and fibroplasia (the growth of tissue associated with would healing). New collagen is formed and as a result, the skin tightens and wrinkles may diminish.
Ultraformer MPT uses advanced micro-focused ultrasound technology, capable of dermal and deep dermal micro heating as well as Superficial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS) contraction for a multi-layered lifting and tightening effect. The highly focused energy heats targeted areas to temperatures of 60-70 degrees. This is the ideal range to de-nature collagen and facilitate micro tissue contraction.
The treatment targets specific layers of skin, using “paddles” without damaging nearby tissue.
What can I expect during and post treatment?
- The treatment is generally painless with patients reporting only slight sensations of pressure as the paddles are being applied.
- Some patients may experience slight redness and swelling on the treated areas.
- Downtime is minimal and most individuals can resume regular activities immediately.

How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments required will depend on the area being treated.
Results may be seen after one treatment. As the collagen regeneration process continues, your skin continues to improve for up to six months post treatment.
Individual results may vary. However, with good aftercare the benefits of the treatment can last for about one year.
