COSMETIC PROCEDURES
Thread Lifts
A procedure using dissolvable sutures to tighten and lift the skin — less invasive than facelift surgery, treating areas such as the cheeks, jaw, neck and eyes.
About the Treatment
A thread lift uses dissolvable sutures to tighten and lift areas of the face showing signs of ageing, including the cheeks, jaw, neck and eyes. It's less invasive than facelift surgery and can be a suitable option for people who aren't ready for, or don't want, a full surgical facelift.
The threads dissolve over roughly 18 months, and the procedure may be repeated. It's performed under local anaesthetic and takes approximately one hour. Some results are visible immediately, with further improvement over time as the treatment continues to work.
Having a thread lift is a very personal decision, and your practitioner will work with you to ensure you're well informed before proceeding.
-
Your practitioner will assess your skin and discuss your goals at consultation to confirm whether a thread lift is suitable for you. The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic and takes approximately one hour. You can generally return to regular activities within around 48 hours.
-
A thread lift is typically a single procedure, though it may be repeated as the threads dissolve over time — generally around 18 months. Your practitioner will discuss a suitable schedule for you at consultation.
-
As with any procedure involving sutures placed beneath the skin, thread lifts carry some risks. These can include, but are not limited to:
Bruising, swelling or discomfort at insertion points
Infection
Visible or palpable irregularities beneath the skin, in less common cases
Asymmetry or an outcome that doesn't fully match expectations
The threads becoming visible or working their way out, in rare cases
Your practitioner will discuss the risks relevant to your specific treatment before proceeding.
-
Most people return to regular activities within around 48 hours. Your practitioner will provide specific aftercare guidance, and some swelling, bruising or tenderness in the treated area is normal in the days following treatment.
-
As with any medical or cosmetic treatment, individual results vary. Some improvement is visible immediately, with further change over the following weeks as the treatment takes effect. Results aren't permanent — the threads dissolve over roughly 18 months, and the procedure may be repeated to maintain results. Your practitioner will discuss what to expect for your specific situation before you proceed.
Costs will be confirmed during your consultation, tailored to your treatment plan.
